If you asked me for the single best book I ever read guess my answer would be a very definite “Think and Grow Rich”.
The first published in 1937, this is the end product of two decades of research conducted by Napoleon Hill. His research started when Andrew Carnegie (steel tycoon who was then the richest man on earth) gave him the task of organizing a Philosophy of Personal Achievement. Hill, who was a poor journalist, armed with only an introductory letter from Carnegie, set out to interview over five hundred people, including successful Henry Ford, Thomas Edison, Alexander Graham Bell, John D. Rockefeller, George Eastman, William Wrigley Jr.. and Charles M. Schwab. Hill then revealed the priceless wisdom of his research in the form of the thirteen steps to success (in Think and Grow Rich) and the seventeen principles of success (in courses and lectures he conducted).
The concepts taught by Napoleon Hill transformed my life. Some of these include the development of a particular purpose, build a positive mental attitude (PMA), channeling the power sub-conscious mind and dealing with adversity. Everything he wrote about or talked about is thought provoking. He was wise, modest and funny. His philosophy is universal, that it does not interfere with religion. The riches he referred to more than money, the philosophy of the Personal Achievement for everything in life. />
This is a classic, and so are old examples (not to be confused with outdated). But they are so relevant today, as they were in the early twentieth century. Here is an example of T & GR in the chapter on Desire:
On the morning after the great fire in Chicago (1871), a group of traders at the Chicago State Street went into a conference to decide or renovate their stores or leave Chicago. All except one chose to leave. The merchant who decided to stay pointed a finger at the remains of his company and said: “Gentlemen, to the place where I will be the world’s largest commercial building, no matter how many times can burn.” His name was Marshall Field and his store still exists, and in Hill’s words, “a towering monument to that state of mind known as a burning desire.” I lived at Chicago 2002-2004 and worked three blocks away from this impressive store on State Street. Sometimes I would visit it or stand outside in order to derive inspiration and be reminded of the power lust. It is amazing that Hill describes’ burning desire “with a story based on the Chicago Fire.
There are thousands of self-help books on the market and hundreds of self-proclaimed “gurus” who made a living by copying the wisdom in Hill’s books. When I by a number of books I realized that so much in them that Hill has not written about. I recommend quality over quantity. Rather than to read many books, I recommend that you study the following works of Hill and internalize his wisdom:
The first Think and Grow Rich Action Pack (1937) – I recommend the Action Pack edition
second Napoleon Hill’s Keys to Success: The 17 Principles of Personal Achievement – this is an excellent guide to his principles,
third Your right to get rich [Unabridged] – this consists of 12-hour live lectures on the 17 principles, that Hill conducted in Chicago in 1954.
By internalizing, I think studying in depth – analyzing the ideas, making notes and summaries. I own more CDs by Hill, but I think these three points is the perfect study plan on the Philosophy of Personal Achievement.
I am greatly indebted to Napoleon Hill. My purpose in writing is to publicize his work, so more people can benefit from it. I think this is the best way that Hill would be repaid.

Although this book since the 30s, it’s still head and shoulders above the others.

title can be misleading. You have to think and your mind reprogamming with tested and proven techniques this time, you will be rich.

The most favorable part of the book for me was the exercise of possession of a mental image of myself in 30 minutes a day with the accusations.

All I can say is that it works, it works.

Napoleon Hill spent more than 20 years interviewing the most successful men of his time and then converts the results of his study, characteristics of the most successful people in Think & Grow Rich. The fact is that successful people think differently. Therefore, a multi-millionaire could lose his entire fortune, and have everything back in five years or less, while if people plod along and never to gather any real level of wealth or success. Hill that when the secret appears that you, or in the first ten pages or 200-side, it’s like your life will change. It’s like you’re done. I have known people who read the book and never got. Not surprisingly, these people never achieved much in life, either. If you do not get. . . you do not understand. Think & Grow Rich is a must read for anyone who wants success and are ready. I wish you the best of succ $ $, happiness and wealth.

This book teaches us what we never learn in school — principles for success. I own book book (Action Pack) and cassette that I have in my car. I’ve never not to pick a new idea every time I read the book or listen to tapes. I recommend Success by sending a positive PMA by Hill and Turner, Turner, Turner: The King of Network Marketing.
